"Cinders and ashes! I've got to collect my passengers!" He exclaimed, puffing quickly away. Maud was cross with him when he finally arrived.

"You're late, Peter Sam! I've been waiting nearly ten minutes!" She scolded.

"I'm terribly sorry! Terribly sorry!" Peter Sam whimpered. The passengers were angry as well, but they boarded quickly and Peter Sam was away without further delay. "Have to hurry! Have to hurry!" He panted as his pistons pumped and his wheels clickity-clacked down the line. Even with the delay, his train ran smoothly, and he handed off his coaches to Mighty Mac at the top station. For the rest of the morning he puffed down the line and back up again carrying goods and passengers, but was still excited for the book signing at the station.
