Personality: The quiet and mysterious Vortex, an Elemental from Black Star who was caught in the cosmic reset and timelocked with Sonic. She was the soul survivor of Black Star’s reset and perhaps even a beacon for Sonic and Friends to recover their memory of the dimension. While she may not know her purpose in the world, perhaps in plays a greater role than she might think.

Backstory: Vortex is all that is left of Black Star. When Ziphone is defeated and the heroes are returned home. What has truly happened to Black Star. Did everything return to normal as it once was? Was Black Star’s sun restored? Or did time itself reverse back through time to Ziphone’s conception, erasing their mark in Black Star’s history and thus never causing any harm to come to Black Star or it’s sun? Was all the friends they’ve made been rewritten or erased. What… Truly became of Black Star?
A Coyote lost through time and space, Vortex found herself tumbling out of a portal in the air in an unfamiliar land. She would of fallen straight to the ground, weren’t it for a blue hedgehog who had also landed there just a few minutes earlier. What was most peculiar about the situation was that none of them, none of them at all remembered anything of what happened prior to waking up on the ground. Or falling out of a portal. It was a quest to recover memories and a quest to figure out where Vortex belonged.
After spending such a long time in Mobius Prime, something began to shed light on Vortex’s origin. Who she was and where she was from, a question everyone had but didn’t want to ask. Her origin was the key to their memory, and it was now more crucial than ever that they figured it out. However their one and only clue is of Vortex’s irrational fear of the dark.
The crew would soon find their big break when they were caught out after dark and something… Strange began to happen. To Sonic, it was like something straight from his memory from when he was turned into the Werehog by Eggman. Vortex seemed… Scared, and in pain. As the darkness blanketed over them, she began to change. Her fur fell out in chunks to reveal jagged crystalline bodies under her that reflected the moon’s beam. Everyone watched in a mixture of awe and horror as the young Coyote they befriended became a crystallized being- however. They still functioned. They were still the same, only now they were made of gemstone. It was this moment that Sonic finally realized what they had all forgotten and where Vortex belonged.
Procuring a small gem shrapnel he stole in their final hour, Sonic used the best of his abilities to try and open a portal to a distant alternate dimension, but to no avail. While initially confused, Silver and Shadow began to remember and realize what Sonic was trying to do. However it was Shadow who reminded them of what Vespyr Astral told them. What caused Black Star as an influx of Chaos Energy delivered to the multiverse. Perhaps, if they could recreate that moment, they could open a portal to Black Star. Each retrieving a Chaos Emerald to reflect the three gods of Black Star, the trio committed a triple Chaos Control, causing a large explosion and a temporal rip to appear in front of them. Although they had no idea if this would take them to Black Star, they had to take the chance and fall. And that’s what Vortex did. Take the first steps forward. Vortex entered the rift and fell into the inky black that was Black Star’s extinguished skies.
Fun Facts: Elementals appear as normal Mobians in daylight, however their eyes will always be the same blue/purple/pink color. But in darkness, they shed their fur and skin to become the crystalline beings they’re most known for.
