One more entry in my '16-bit style' semi-series, all inspired by the amazing work of guys like ZVitor.

This time it's another Aquaman villain, his half-brother, Orm... also know as the 'Ocean Master'. It seems with each 're-invention' of the DC Universe status-quo, there comes new versions of the origin of 'Ocean Master.' But for the longest time, it seemed he had been overshadowed by the likes of Black Manta as Aquaman's premiere nemesis.

I find the most recent 'New 52' version of his origin/powers/status to the most interesting. Hell, if you ask me the best thing to happen to Aquaman (since guys like Peter David started taking him more seriously in the 90's) was the 'New 52', as his stuff during and after that has been pretty damn stellar. In this new version of events, Orm is the half-brother of Arthur Curry, aka: Aquaman. Unlike previous versions, he was born and raised in Atlantis and has even had it's throne at one time. But lost it after being manipulated into open warfare with the surface world that ended with him being in prison.

I guess what I liked about this version the most is how he briefly 'retired' from villainy to live with a human woman and her son, whom he had grown quite fond of following a prison break instigated by the 'Crime Syndicate' during the 'Forever Evil' event. He was genuinely happy and content. But events transpiring in Atlantis found their way to his door step and he was forced to go back... and it seems events haven't quite let up since.

I basically used Aquaman's sprites, mixed in the cowl of Batman to craft his helmet/mask, and the cape of Superman from the SNES 'Justice League: Task Force' game. Used the Trident from ZVitor's own take/redesign of the SNES Aquaman sprites, and edited it to try and make it look more like Orm's personal trident.
