" Jack, do you realize that this is the first time that anything living has been found anywhere in space? Do you know how terribly important that is?"

The next creature to be redesigned is the Green Slime from the movie of the same name, released in 1968! It's always nice when the title of the movie acts as a fairly apt descriptor for the creature in question; makes doing the designing significantly easier. Now I could be mixing this up with another movie, but I remember a story about the actors seeing the creature suits for the first time and laughing at them, much to the dismay of the director. Seeing the monsters themselves, I can see why. They're lovable, sure, but they definitely look like a monster of the week from Power Rangers. However, there's merit in that yet, so I just tweaked their designs to be something a little more true to the name and a little more intimidating.

The changes were pretty simple overall, even if their effects are rather drastic. I liked the singular red eye, so that had to stay, but I figured making them less humanoid would help make them feel more alien and a little less goofy. I also didn't just want to make them blob-like however, so I gave them a tripod stance and multiple limb-like tentacles. I also wanted to keep their ability to discharge electricity (which I almost forgot about), so I made it so that all four of their tentacles could fire concentrated beams of electricity. Beyond that, I just had fun making them as goopy as possible.
