Marcus Smith was seen by all around him as an odd child from the moment was born. He never spoke, rarely interacted with people and generally seemed like his mind was occupied somewhere far, far away. He was considered harmless however, until one day he duct taped his family into their beds at night, cut out their tongues and burned them alive. When responders arrived, the house was ablaze, and Marcus was found standing outside his parent's window with half his face burned and shredded from the exploded glass. As always though, he remained stoic and emotionless. After multiple failed attempts to rehabilitate the child, he was found to be utterly bereft of human emotion and was locked away in an insane asylum. There he remained for over fifteen years, sequestered away from the rest of humanity. It wasn't until an inspection on the state of living within the asylum began, as national reforms took place towards the treatment of mental health.

A small team of inspectors arrived as a storm began to brew outside. What they found within was deplorable, with the patients being treated as little more than animals. It was immediately apparent this place needed to be shut down, however, before the team could leave the building's power went out and the place went into lockdown. This allowed the patients to roam free and resulted in the release of Marcus, who immediately broke out into a spree of murder. Eventually he was put down by the very sledgehammer he took as his weapon, but not before he inflicted mental scars upon those who survived. Within 99, Marcus is a simple but effective killer, joining the others of his ilk with unnatural strength and stealth.
