Description

The World State is the setting of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.

Emerging from a collapsing, war-torn Earth, the World State ended up as a unified government which administered to the whole world, with a few isolated exceptions. In Brave New World, the World State is run by a group of ten World Controllers. These World Controllers are positioned are headquartered in various key cities, managing their allocated areas. In the book, the only World Controller that we meet is Mustapha Mond, who controls Western Europe.

I used my own ideas and speculations on the world of the book to create this map, dividing the World State into ten sectors for each World Controller. So, keep in mind: this is not accurate. Outside of these sectors, there are savage reservations where uncivilized people live. In the book, these included New Mexico, Samoa, and a small group of islands off the coast of New Guinea. There are also islands reserved for the citizens of the World State who do not wish to live in normal society. The Falkland Islands and Iceland are such islands, though I decided to add the Caribbean Basin, Hawai’i, and Sri Lanka.
