Description This is an evolution of Patrick's Rus costume. He wanted to portray a 10th century Rus trader on the Silk Road, travelling back from Bagdad.
Silk turban, Linen shirt, linen baggy trousers, and a linen and silk kaftan, adorned with tablet weave. The kaftan was made in 1 day, so it's not lined but I should correct that eventually.

We based the costume on the descriptions made by arab travellers from the period, but I did not work with historical patterns. I have made a lot of assumptions, so the result is more of an evocation than a recreation.

Patrick carries a pattern welded curved blade, with a lion head pommel. He bought it in Pakistan last year, and I think it's quite appropriate for this character. He also borrowed my pouch, and was wearing his usual Viking jewellery.
