Description
Sometimes, only sometimes, things go right. And sometimes, only sometimes, things go horribly wrong.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
After two years he walked in here with his chin held high, still remembering how he left it. He fled, afraid He would hunt him.
Now the military base lay before him, abandoned and dark. He knew it was deserted, he had his connections. The old base was abandoned shortly after he left.
And still, he had a weird feeling coming back.
What did he want to find here? Anwers? To what questions?
Quietly he stood at the edge of the forest that surrounded the base. The buildings looked like old black teeth against the slightly lit midnight sky.
The young delta sighed and walked towards one building.
Everything looked like two years ago. Nothing had changed.
The old metaldoor squeaked as he slowly opened it. He stepped in and was welcomed by an old moldy stench of rotting wood. The room was dark, the floor dirty. He passed the short corridor to enter the room fully. The plate above his head on the right wall read the familiar words “F.A.I.R. Research, Lab B”. He still could remember.
On the same wall stood an old wooden table, the wood was damp and slightly green with moss. To the left of the table stood a console, some monitors were still working. He noticed an old file lying on the table, he read the name on it, but didn’t recognize it. But he didn’t care thinking about it, it was long gone now.
To his left the room opened into some sort of laboratory. Although there was no light in this room it still was slightly lit. Two rowes of tubes flooded the room with soft green light.
He could hear the quiet hum of a generator. So this place still has power.
The delta walked across the room, along the first row of tubes. Deep in his thoughts he walked slowly, reaching out a hand absentmindly and slightly touched the glass of the tubes with his fingertips as he walked by. He felt like he never left this place, the place he called home for 21 years. And his father, the only person who ever was important to him. The only person he ever trusted, but he also was the person who betrayed him.
But he came back. He still was attached to him, something he denied vigorously.
Old memories came back and he was lost in his thoughts. He stopped in the middle of the room, piercing the floor with his eyes, as if it could help him to find the answers to his questions. Questions he never asked.
The old door squeaked again. Yellowed, rumbled paper was caught by the wind and flew across the room.
He still stood there with his back to the entrance, the hum in his ears, the wind playing with his wheatcolored hair.
Something was strange. Something he should have noticed the moment he entered this room. He had a bad feeling.
“I never thought you would come back, Thomas.”
A familiar dark voice came from the door and Leo jerked his head up. Why didn’t he notice it? He knew that often when old bases were abandoned they just left it like it was, so it wasn’t suprising that the generators still worked. But there was something else. The computer. He saw an old file on the monitor. By secret projects they would never leave the computer here.
It wasn’t abandoned. It just wasn't in use. For now.
Leo took a deep breath and slowly turned around.
“Never ever call me that name.”
The dark wolf stood right in front of the door, blocking the only escape route.
Leo looked the older wolf into the eyes, his fur was as dark as Leo remembered.
“Why am I not surprised to see you again, my son?”
He smiled showing long white fangs. His eyes were dark, reflecting the soft green glow of the the tubes.
He slowly walked towards his son, stretching the moment unbearable. Leo stood his ground. But he did not know for how long.
It was like he remembered it.
And with that he was lost in his past again. But this time it wasn’t only a memory…

From this point on it will be a mature content. Only people with an furaffinity account will be able to read it than.
Anyway, I wanted to post this for a while now, but never got around to write the story for it. Th chapter is still not done, but since people on dA won't ever see the whole story I thought I at least can post it here.
It's a flashback, something inbetween the chapters.
And the first time you hear Leo's real name and hear about his father. (will draw him too someday.)
The story isn't my best, I know. I will update it later when I feel better. Sorry for the mistakes, and please you don't have to correct them, I have a beta-reader for that (a pretty good one, I have to say). For now, enjoy.
Details on the pic:
Used several textures for the bg and the coat. Made at least three different brushes for the picture (the bubbles in the tubes, the light on the coat).
The dogtags are mine. Since I annot draw metal I just scanned my dogtags in and put them into the pic.
I used way too many PS files and way too many space on my harddrive.
The texture o his shirt is from a shirt of mine. Due to the lack of good textures on the net, I scanned my shirt in and used it. (don't have a cam).
Also used some grunge and rust brushes I found here on dA. Sorry I don't remember who made them.
Image, chars, story (c) to me
EDIT: WHAT THE...? I got a DD on this? Hell, I am freaking happy. ^^ I love this piece and worked so long on it and I am proud of it. And thanks to =thunderfox5 for suggesting it and to ^skifi for featuring it. XD
(damn, I really can't believe it. XD)

I just love this image so much. The lighting gives it such a beautiful atmosphere. The writing really draws me in--and this line really struck me: What did he want to find here? Anwers? To what questions? I just love the way it sounds...

omg, amazing. the textures and lighting are superb! it's all very powerful! I love the bg, how you put t altogether, it looks really really good, even with using brushes, it looks very believable! I think the dog tags, scanning them in, is an awsome idea and you tied them into the pic really well, they don't look out of place at all, looks liek teh same medium as the rest of the pic!
The only critique I would give is the sign in the bg should be a little darker, there seems to be a little too much natural light on it and it stnds out too much considering the darkness/dinginess of the rest of the. Otherwise, simply amazing!
