I love this picture. The colors have an astonishing sci fi realism, while indoors, its a flat from... any era, depending on what you assume the details you are seeing actually are. Are they exactly what they seem or representations? What has these little ones so focused? Are they alone for a reason? So many fascinating questions...
I spend too much time in fandom apparently, because I see Luke and Leia growing up on Corazant instead of Tatooine and Alderaan. Your pictures always have that fantastical edge to them that makes me think of stories, some I know, some I don't. (Memory is Gallifrey, obviously...) You have a real gift, and I appreciate it.

Hmm. Musing upon this image. In my mind i'd say that the subject of the children's expectations is on the cusp of realisation. The children are looking out the window as if they are hoping to catch glimpse of or some sign of someone's arrival. And from the poise of the puppy, it looks as if this image is of the moment just before he lets out a yip, drawing the childrens attention back into the room, and causing them to notice grandpa has just walked in to wish them a Merry Christmas!
Soon to be followed by much more yipping and children's squealings of delight.

I'd say its almost perfect. The prospective of the sidebar is a little askewed from the remainder of the image. If you reduce its slant just a tad, about say 2 maybe 3 degrees, I believe it will line up with the rest of the room.
