Well, if Jamal's the dreamer, Whiskers is the badass, Ma-Caw's the wild card, and Pyro's the "hero", then that makes Jake the heart of the group. He's the team's conscience, he's the paladin, he's the straight-man (er-uh, serpent). He's the anthesis of everything people usually expect from a snake character in a work of fiction. He's Jesus Christ if he came back as a snake. He's Casper the Friendly Ghost but instead of people running away because he's a supernatural entity they run because he's a cold-blooded venomous reptile. Jake is a guy who just wants to do his part to make the world a better place, but is unfortunately the perpetual victim of speciesism.
