Some design-work with this gal ( www.deviantart.com/tabdabble/a…) and some brainstorming.
I bought this design originally from Sage-n-TheSea-ADOPTS She's extremely fun to draw!
I did this forever ago but I'm cleaning out my st.ash so here it is

Here's some notes I made too:
I wanted to see where she could have started out design-wise as a 'legit' toon. In addition to the weird way she acts, I think that over the years, she might have been jammed into a bunch of roles she didn't fit into, leaving her with physical 'scars' from her different incarnations, like mayyyybe a broken unicorn horn (with the leonlike tail), the plow-horse getup, the guard horse mane and tail buns, the human-like hands, etc.
After a while her design was scrapped (like you came up with), and she sort of just grew into more of what she felt like- the longer body and the back-bending legs (I warped them so the lower part of the leg is in fact her hoof, just elongated so that her legs could become more like actual horse legs).
