Entry for Jaysey's DTA here: www.deviantart.com/jaysey/art/…

This is for the Sombrashy design, and I thought it would be sweet if she were the sister of Fragile Monarch here: (www.deviantart.com/tabdabble/a… )

This baby is very anxious, and as a child had a lot of problems with feather-plucking and other self-destructive behaviors. Fluttershy thought it might be pertinent to give her daughter a service animal!

Hence- Gosselmeier. He is a Black swan with feathers mottled both black and white. Fluttershy suspects that he is a Blute swan (a hybrid between a black swan and white swan).

Gosselmeier also had issues feather-plucking, and in embracing the cygnet, the unicorn learned to cultivate self-compassion more, and together they progressed away from that harmful coping habit!

Present day, they spend almost all their time together, and gain a lot of peace and joy from the other's company.

Recently though, Applejack's dog Winona passed away of old age, and Rarity's cat isn't far behind, forcing the unicorn to think of the day when she may no longer have Gosselmeier.

She's deeply troubled by how unfair it is that they can't be together forever, and despite the advice from relatives and friends that when it's the swan's time to go, it'd be the kindest thing to let him go, she sets off into the world on a quest to find the fountain of youth so she can bodily throw Gosselmeier into it.

I imagine a good arc for her would be to accept that even though the death of an animal companion can be devastating, it's more than worth their company in the mean-time, and that an unnaturally extended life wouldn't be a good one for Gosselmeier.

I thought a good name for her would be Sematary, and her cutie mark would might maybe be a shoebox ;v;

I hope this didn't get too sad, I kinda inserted some of my thoughts and stuff that I've been thinking about lately.

I hope you like my take, Jaysey !
