Description
The problem with Bolos is that they were designed by a writer, not a visual artist. Having mutiple turrets is annoying; the barbettes need to be mounted on elevators or similar to at least allow all main cannons to focus fire. Tracks look pretty dumb if Mk33+ Bolos have antigravity and can fly around. Let's go with some sort of slug drive.Still needs a more radical redesign.

The sole idea of running on tracks is silly: in real life, super heavy transports and excavators need to have the land artificially flatened ahead of them. At the scale of the larger bolos, they would become landlocked by any rocky outcropping unless they dedicated their forward secondary turrets to little else than blasting flat the terrain ahead.

Oh...and this image is very much one of the better ones I've seen otherwise.

I'm going to have to agree with arcboundfiend that the Bolos were NOT a monument to mankind's 'cowardice'. The books show this for the garbage it is by commenting that it was only tradition that prompted human pilots to accompany their Bolos into combat, to share the danger with their war machines. Bolos didn't NEED human pilots and were perfectly capable of fighting on their own.
Nor is this accurate about the other services that supported the Bolos. Thousands of human soldiers, tankers, and starship crews shared in the dangers of the battlefield. But to match their enemies humankind needed the Bolos...to do otherwise was sheer stupidity.

I do not believe that the Bolos were a monument to mankind's cowardice. It wasn't that mankind was too afraid to fight; it was that they were incapable. War had just gotten to a point where they needed a bit more help. So that cowardice bit is the only part that irks me about this picture.
Aside from that, this is one of the more accurate depictions of how I expect a Bolo to look.

The models with multiple main turrets commonly couldn't fire them all at a target in the forward arc. It was often a tactical decision on the part of the BOLO whether to engage a target head on with maximum armor from the front or broad side with maximum firepower.

Multiple turrets = engage more than one target at the same time. Having the ability to focus more than one turret at a single target is nice, but not neccesary. A 200 cm hellbore hit was a hard kill against any opponent it would encounter. Heck, it was a hard kill against most starships in orbit!
The MK33 had antigrav, but it was so energy intensive that when flying it couldn't fire most of it's heavy weapons, nor deploy it's anti-kinetic battlescreen. IOW, it was not meant for maneuvering under fire.
