I feel in love with this the moment I saw it. It's clean and crisp, and very original. I love the little details, like the dirt near earth, and the fog around air.

Beautiful paradox in this image.
It has a peacefulness and simplicity, very pleasing and dramatic.
The more one looks at it, the more the subtle and powerful details emerge.
I especially love this one.

I am honored to have my stock used as a part of this challenge.

I just see this, and wow, this is amazing. the water under the water-orb, the fog around the air-orb, the little pieces or 'dirt' next to the earth-orb, the steam around the fire-orb, and then the reflections. Really amazingly done with a clever eye for details.Good luck in the challenge

This work absolutely stands out even as a thumb. I am familiar with the tutorials about creating orbs, yet there is a skilled work behind achieving such a splendid result.
You can give a tutorial to 10 different people, and they will all achieve different results
I feel honored that you chose my texture as the background for this creation. It was created out of a leaf!
The darkness helps the orbs shine beautifully. The subtle details like the water under the "water elemental", the fog over and below the "air elemental", the tiny rocks near the "earth elemental" and the smoke/flames coming out of the "fire elemental" are the cherry on the cake and what makes this composition absolutely perfect.
Nothing but praise to your creation, which certainly reflects the elements with total perfection.
Congratulations, and thanks - again - for using my stock.

I gotta say it definately worked. I'm currently puzzling out how you made the orbs. And you more than deserved the fave.

All done in Photoshop CS4, It is really easy. There are tons of tutorials. I just make a circle shape do a black internal glow, (set to multiply), The "Shine" is: Select the circle, use a new layer and add a white to transparent gradient from top to bottom. Deselect and then squeeze it up til it makes the shine. Usually you have to squeeze the sides in a bit too. Then just clip mask the texture between the two.

Thanks I appreciate it. I felt it a bit cliche, but hopefully the added bits of stuff outside the orbs took it past that.

Dude, this is so cool. You have a way of capturing the hidden rules of life. I'm glad I know you. Well F-ing done. I personally would like the reflections a little bit more subtle, since subtle of my game, but this is minimal. The steam, the mist, the crumbs... brilliant.

I thought the glass balls seemed to cliche so I thought I would tweak that a bit by putting some of the material in the balls on the outside, I was not sure it would be enough of a tweak.
Thanks
