The Resolute-class cruiser is a medium-sized and very flexible general-purpose capital warship.
A larger and more heavy duty variant of the Courageous-class light cruiser equipped with a main battery consisting of artillery gun turrets and a considerable and relatively heavy secondary battery providing more rapid fire close-range firepower. The torpedo launchers from the Courageous-class were maintained and the energy shields strengthened.
The Resolute-class was adopted as a general mainline fleet cruiser for UFSN fleet groups. In that role they serve both in large formations with other cruisers and smaller warships and undertake cruising missions in small squadrons or even on their own.
