The Norma SP-21 is a very simple, lightweight and compact striker-fired signal pistol chambered in a low-pressure 21mm Flare cartridge. The little launcher and it's variants is one of the most common models of signal pistols and can be found on countless watercraft, space vessels and backpacks all around civilised human space. While primarily designed as an emergency signalling device, various types of non- and less-lethal ammunition types are made for the pistol by numerous manufacturers. Legal status of these pistols varies wildly between territories, ranging from "non-regulated tool" to "destructive device", most commonly they are less regulated than firearms though.
