Description
While this might not be the clearest photo, I still really love it for some reason. The parasols hanging from the trees are by far my favorite thing I've encountered in my brief time here in Japan so far. I abhor the word "whimsical," but it's the only thing I can think to describe a sight like this.
My images from the Beppu Sentoumyou festival (1,000 candles, I believe) in Beppu Park. At night, the candles were all lit, and the park began to glow like a fairy land with thousands of lanterns made by local school children, as well as a few larger art installations by contemporary artists in the area.
