i too was an maxx addict! got all the comics, the art cards, the mtv cartoon on video!
got sam keith's and bill meisnor-loebs sig too! heh.
even was lucky enough to have two pieces of fanart printed in and on the back of the
comic.

i love it!

I was never a big fan of alot of the IMAGE COMICS stuff. I'm probly the only person on this planet not indebted to Lee and McFarlane for my admiration of comics. Infact, the years of their reign, ones in which the importance of writing was greatly overlooked for the images, were when I originally dropped out of comic books.

But I must say, that I have always held a place in my heart for anything and everything SAM KEITH has put his hands on. The MAXX especially. I've always loved the wonderful mix of myth, spirituality, trauma, and slapschtick that made up all 30+ issues of the series. But I most of all loved the artwork. Especially the dry ink he applied with toothbrushes, because that's the only way you can do what he tried to do. Really good stuff.

But no one seems to give the man his props anymore. Modest success on his last few series (Wolvie/Hulk and Zero Girl), but I almost never see an fanart for him... and of what I have seen this is definately one of my favorites. Julie has on a great pair of pants (very her). The inkwork all around is top notch. Love it all.

Just wondering why he is wearing the mane but not the rest of the headress. (i.e. feathers and stuff)
