Description

 Taigon Mutation : Moondust

Rarity: Rare
Gene: nMd / MdMd

Visible: Always

Please note that variation of the colors above is perfectly accepted!
You are welcome to have slightly darker, slightly lighter, less saturated, or more saturated colors of basecoat.
Just make sure blacks are still a dark blue and bay pearls are relatively light grenish/aqua.

Lets break it down!

Moondust will always...

  • Express alongside natural nightmarks.
  • Express under natural white markings and dominant white markings.
  • Moondust is a base-coat mutation and sits below ALL other mutations.
  • Saturate the mane and tail to be the same as OR relatively darker or lighter than the basecoat saturation.

  • Moondust will optionally...

  • Saturate the entire coat of a Taigon or only parts of the coat. (Must include one or the other!)
  • Saturate the hooves of the Taigon.
  • Show a subtle glow/aura of color at night.

  • Moondust will never...

  • Replace natural nightmarks.
  • Saturate or otherwise effect other mutations.
  • Saturate to colors not remotely shown on the chart above.

  • *** Reading ***
Moondust will read as "Moondusted" and then the rest of the coloration.
        EX1. Moondusted Grey on Bay.
        EX2. Moondusted Smokey Cream.

    *** Moondusted Roans ***
Moodusted basecoats will still roan as they normally would with a lighter barrel and darker legs/neck/and face. Please be sure that the barrel/body of your taigon is distinctly lighter than the basecoat colors!
EX. (Number 2 Above) Moondusted Smokey Cream Champange Roan (with a pale blue body)

    *** Moondusted Duns ***

Moondust has a special relationship with Dun in which dun markings saturate independently of the basecoat. Even when Dun markings might naturally appear black that does not mean they have to saturate like black coats. Dun features can saturate to any color shown above regardless of it's basecoat.
EX. (Number 3 Above) Moondusted Smokey Black Pearl Dun (with Smokey Cream Champange dun features)

    *** Moondusted and Sooty ***
Moondust attaches to and overly saturated sooty markings. Though they should still be darker than the basecoat and at leat side-by-side on a color wheel. Blues basecoats can have darker green sooty and reds can have darker orange sooty.
EX. (Number 4 Above) Moondusted Sooty Palomino (with darker orange sooty features)
