Merry Christmas, ~! ^o^I joined ~! ^w^ So~~ I hope you like this gift! ^-^
~Originally, I planned on drawing Kakashi... but I failed so many times D: I fail at guys in general, so I had to save this one for last xD
~Ash in his ORIGINAL (I think?? O.O ) design from Pokemon~! <3 Doing Ash was kind of fun; even though the art didn't turn out the way I wanted it to ;o; Pokemon and Sailor Moon were the first anime shows I've ever watched~ And I've always wanted to a fanart of one of the two >w< So there, killing two birds with one stone <3

Digimon :'D I was an obsessed fan. I created and drew my own Digimon (I'm sure I still have the drawings >>; ), wrote stories about them, and later down the road, even fell in love with a character on one of the shows and insisted on dressing like her (hey, she was a tomboy, so I could have pulled it off |: )
Sailor Moon and Pokemon seemed to be pretty popular amongst kids when they first came out xD Oh, and can't forget Dragonball Z (I watched that one too...)
I wonder, though, if anyone remembers Tenchi Muyo ;^;

Actually, my first was Sailor Moon, then Tenchi Muyo!... then Evangelion... (needless to say, I got a heavy dose of philosophy when I was a kid

My sister initially got me to watch Sailor Moon; she was totally into the whole "high school super heroine" stage and used to draw tons of fanart. Needless to say, she bought mountains of mangas thereafter XD

Usagi (Sarina) is portrayed as a dumbass who eats all the time, has a hot boyfriend, and has a ton of other friends. From where I stand, it seemed like my sister tried to imitate that lifestyle... and became overweight and dumped by her "hot" boyfriend... (which was why she started anti-depressants).
Sailor Moon is definitely not a role model I would follow =/

Yeah, but if you think about it, most Anime women/girls are horrible role models in general. It's because of the female status in Japan: always was second-rate and likely to stay that way for a very long time.
That's why I can appreciate artists like Hayao Miyazaki (he's a feminist). All his movies depict women in strong, leadership roles: like Lady Eboshi from Princess Mononoke (or Princess Mononoke herself).

You've never seen any of Miyazaki's films?!?!
He's only like the Godfather of animation! If you're gonna watch anything from Stuido Ghibli, watch the earlier films like My Neighbor Totoro or Castle in the Sky. Most of his more recent works aren't very cohesive and are difficult to understand =/ (like Howl's Moving Castle... that was near impossible to find the moral).
Princess Mononoke is by far the most violent of the movies I've seen from him but it's one of those epics. The scenery is ridiculously breathtaking.
