Description
Visual Kei is a movement among Japanese musicians that started in the early 80s and is characterized by the use of make-up, elaborate hair styles, and flashy costumes. Some sources state that Visual Kei refers to a music genre, or a sub-genre of Japanese Rock, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However other sources state that Visual Kei is only a fashion, with its unique clothing, make-up and participation in the related subculture being what exemplifies the use of the term. Both viewpoints are correct. The best "equation" for Visual Kei is: Kabuki + 80s Glam Rock + a little bit of Punk.
Majority of bands in the Visual Kei scene are all male- it has only been in recent years that all female groups have emerged.

Obviously, this is the fashion genre for the colour RED. I cannot fully describe why I chose Visual Kei for red... it's best inferred if you are around Visual Kei a lot and can jump on my wave length. The best I can say is Visual Kei, as described above, is a lot like a form of punk attire nowadays. So when I saw "red", I immediately thought plaid, blood, vibrant, bold, rebel- things like that. And, to me, Visual Kei seems to be the epitome of all of those words ^^
This Visual Kei guy's name is Kotaru.
