Yes, it struck me pretty early. The series creator, Axel Hirsch, did in fact use to work on Regular Show.

You do create a great question , why is it call Gravity Falls instead of "I just ran my horse off a cliff" like it inspire the town founder to create it? And maybe is just me but am I the only one who got the feeling that it could pass as a Goosebumps Show? Just about everything they encounter reminds me of the old days when Goosebumps was everywhere.

But wasn't Goosebumps just a series of separate horror stories? This is a show with continuity and a regular cast.

I know that, I'm just saying that it reminds me of that series in that they encounter some truly creepy and bizarre stuff.I keep expecting the Beast from the East to show up since it takes place in a forest [link] with that in mind I would had loved that Gravity Falls came out in the 90's in Goosebumps place as it will had made that school year more awesome for me.

I'm still uncertain about how much the title sequence is hinting. But Mabel did get a pig that she loves very much, and that's in the title sequence.
