Maxwell was created for space exploration (like most Protogen) but he ended up getting stuck on the planet with the rest of my doods. The blast visor was origionally meant to be used during ship repair or other hard labor construction, but he's taken to heavy weaponry and artillery, so that's the current use of the visor, protecting from blow back.

Maxwell is best friends with Kendal and Zeta, since one has a similar existence (Zeta's an android, Maxwell is a cyborg) and Kendal can help with repairs, and extra modular bits
