This is a remake of my Flying Dutchman fanfic, I originally meant to put it up on April 30th, which is Walpurgis Night, cause that's when this fanfic takes place but it wasn't ready yet, this does work though for mermay

It starts when Tintin intercepts Lupin the 3rd and his gang trying to steal the long lost skull of Blackbeard from a New York city mobster but find it's gone and as that happens run into pirate ghosts, Ed, Edd, and Eddy also run into these ghosts who steal a quarter that they managed to get out of a sewer grain, following up on reports of a ghost ship sighted in New York harbor, Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock and Lupin's gang set out to sea to investigate, and of course Inspector Zenigata is following close by, the Eds also go out to sea to try to get their quarter back

After everyone ends up on the same boat they find what appears to be a deserted pirate ship, so they investigate and soon enough discover that it's the legendary ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman, and have to fight off the ghost pirates, then the Leviathan, a demon sea serpent of myths, shows up, reviled to be the creator of the Flying Dutchman (I give a whole origin story of the ghost ship), incurring it's wrath the Leviathan places a curse on Tintin, binding him to the ocean, which means turning him into a merman, Tintin is helped through this by a friendly mermaid (OC) who tries to help him get home, but the two run into the ghosts of Blackbeard's pirates and find the before mentioned mobster trying to capture Blackbeard's ghost using his skull, while Tintin's friends stop this and secure the skull, it's revealed that the crew of the Flying Dutchman plan to use Blackbeard's ghost a bargaining chip to get the Leviathan to left the curse, all of which boils down to our heroes fighting the Flying Dutchman crew, Blackbeard's ghost, and the Leviathan's minions (which include Davey Jones)

Through out this story there's also a lot of Captain Haddock angst as he deals with his insecurities about living up to his ancestor's legacy, especially because he's the last of the Haddock line, and the emotional scar from how his father was killed by a creepy ninja (Orochimaru), and all that combined is what made him the alcoholic wretch he was when Tintin first meet him, and how in this fanfic he has to overcome all those fears and doubts

Now keep in mind that the stuff about the Flying Dutchman and Captain Haddock's origin is all headcanon

As to the connection to Walpurgis Night, there are times when the Flying Dutchman can put into port and it's crew roam the land, those times being when the veil between worlds it thin, like during Halloween or in this case Walpurgis Night
