Description Too much. Too much blood. Thrushpaw was staring helplessly at the black and white she cat infront of her. Her chest was heaving, fighting for a breath of fresh air. Thrushpaw knew Swiftheart was a goner, you could see the dazed look in her eyes.

Dewspot and her kits were huddled in a corner, watching the horrifying scene unfold infront of them. Brakenfoot, Swiftheart's mate, was frozen in the nursery, staring at his dying mate. Thrushpaw didn't know what else to do. She gave Swiftheart a stick to bite on, burdock root to help the pain, a poppy seed, and a leaf of catmint. Shrewflight was out of camp at the moment, probably racing back to camp with Coalpaw in the lead.

The sun was slowly starting to set when an old brown tom slipped in with an unfamiliar herb. He put it down infront of Swiftheart's muzzle. "Thrushpaw," the tom said, "This is ivy. It is a very rare plant in the forest, but one leaf can cure and save a cat."

Thrushpaw looked suspiciously at the plant infront of her. "Are you sure it will work Shrewflight?" Shrewflight nodded slowly. "To be honest, I am not sure it will."

Brakenfoot looked up at the two. "Can you at least try? The kits will die without her." Shrewflight lashed his tail. "Of course I will, I didn't go a long way for nothing."

The old tom padded over to Swiftheart and flicked his tail for Thrushpaw to watch him. Shrewflight explained while he went along. "Thrushpaw, the only way for the medicine to work is to make the leaf to mush," he squished the leaf into a green goop, "and then you just feed it to them." Shrewflight forced the mush into Swiftheart's mouth, making her moan in pain.

"Can't you just feed it to them regular?" Thrushpaw asked. Fear shuddered through Shrewflight, making him flinch. "No," he said coldly, "Then it would kill the cat." Thrushpaw blinked. Kill? This must be an important herb, she thought.

Swiftheart gasped for air, and Brakenfoot raced over to her. "Swiftheart, are you alright?" Swiftheart managed to raise her head at Brakenfoot, and humor filled her eyes. "Better than any other day." The she cat joked.

"C'mon," Shrewflight said to Thrushpaw, "Let's give them some privacy." Shrewflight ushered Thrushpaw out with his tail. As soon as they got out of the nursery, a large white tom padded over to them.

His bright yellow eyes were filled with concern. "Is Swiftheart alright?" Shrewflight nodded. "Yes Lightningstar, she lost a lot of blood, but the ivy saved her." The clan sighed in relief. "A she cat and a tom!" Thrushpaw added.

The clan cheered and cats started to go inside the nursery to see the kits. Thrushpaw started to veer over to the nursery when Shrewflight stopped her. "Not tonight Thrushpaw. You did a good job. Go eat and see the kits tomorrow. Besides," Shrewflight looked at Thrushpaw, "The gathering is tonight."

Thrushpaw opened her eyes wide. She had forgotten it was already the full moon! She nodded and padded over to a blue tabby she cat who was munching on a thrush.

"Hey Streampaw!" Thrushpaw mewed. Streampaw stopped eating. "Hi! Are you happy there are new kits?" She asked. Thrushpaw thought about it for a moment. "Yes. It is good the Clan has more kits, since Dewspot's litter is almost six moons old."

"Are you going to the gathering?" Streampaw asked. Thrushpaw nodded. She always went to the gatherings! "You?" Thrushpaw mewed. Streampaw got up and stretched. "Yep. Let's get ready, Lightningstar is going to call us." The two shared tongues until Lightningstar asked the cats to gather for the gathering.

"Hopefully everything is fine with the clans." Streampaw mewed. Thrushpaw nodded in agreement. "Let's hope so."
