As much as she threw her all into safeguarding what was left of the city and trying to uncover the secrets of the Shadetree, the people in turn kept her fed, clothed, and sheltered - a selflessness she found beautiful. The love for her home and the pride in its people was reinvigorated by the comradery born to those who struggled together through the worst of hardships. Tested and tempered by catastrophe, these bonds would define this new era and Mae had hope in the future.

The sun finally rises on a bloodied land, an end to eternal nightmare. The fury of the gods has at last been silenced. As balance is once more restored it is the tiny, tenacious, mortal lives who are left to pick up the pieces. As they rebuild their homes, their world, it is they who are left to write their own stories. The tales told of this apocalypse will shepherd all who follow for eons to come.
