The setting is plants and shrubs. I would imagine that this picture was taken in front of a garden somewhere on a college campus. The couple looks to be in they're mid to late twenties. His hair isn't exactly well combed or brushed, and her hair doesn't look too much better. But they are both dressed in very formal attire. I could see it of him, and her as well, that they both had to undergo a time in their lives that demanded a lot of work and sacrifice in order to achieve or accomplish something major. In that time, they didn't always get to see each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. And they might have even had some hard times in their relationship during that time of work and trials. But they were both very focused and persevering, and they both accomplished what they had set out to do.
Now there they are at an awards ceremony with piece of mind. It's like they're both kissing with a rest and peace of mind that they had accomplished something major and that a rough time of work and trials is now past. He is kissing her like he had accomplished something very arduous. Now they can both rest for a time and be together. Now they are free to express their true love towards each other with less restraints and inhibitions.
