So I’d imagine that when Mari is in its human form, it would have acne because of its general lack of care for appearances. While Patrick on the other hand, cares quite a bit (I mean just look at that opening scene man).

And since Patrick is the person he is, he would probably say some off hand remarks about Mari’s acne, in front of it. Now yeah, you came argue that he’s just doing for Mari and it’s health, but we all know Patrick hear so that arguments our the window.

But Mari (being the chill person it is), would just brush it off like nothings happened each time it’s in said form. But everyone has their limits, including Mari. So one day after the millionth comment, it just swings one at him. And now we’re here.

Is it obvious this is projection in more ways than one…yes? Yeah I know.
