Description
The VHS is a Croatian 5.56x45mm NATO assault rifle first introduced in 2007 as the new service rifle of the Croatian military. The first version was externally very similar to the French FAMAS. In 2013, an improved variant was introduced, the VHS-2, which replaced the older VHS in Croatian service. There are two main variants of the VHS: the full-length VHS-D and the carbine-length VHS-K. This specific model is the VHS-D2 CT (a VHS-D2 with an integrated 1.5x scope, but there are versions with a Picatinny rail instead of a scope). The VHS is completely ambidextrous, it can take G36 magazines, and its handguard can be easily swapped out for an underslung grenade launcher (VHS-BG, a proprietary launcher which can also be fired as a standalone weapon).
