Illustration out of a children's book?
I choked a little on my coffee after hearing that one.
If anything, kids should be kept AWAY from the realm of this idea. It's been so corrupted by sickos out there, that little girls can't Google My Little Pony without running into porn.
It makes me literally shiver with disgust. The artwork for this is grand, but that DD suggester description just made my day due to the irony of what kinds of people are most likely faving this work.
I'm not saying ALL bronies or whatever the hell they're called are ALL pedophiles, I'm just saying their numbers are bigger than you think, and most won't ever admit it.

The suggester said "It looks like an illustration for children's book". This doesn't mean that this was for a children's book or that MLP is for children. It simply refers to the style of the artwork. I think you lack some interpretation...
I also am not sure why we should keep children away from it because of those bronies. If the show itself is suited for a child, what's the big deal? As far as I know, Rule 34 applies everywhere. I already ran into porn immediately only with google searches like "popcorn" and "cookies"...

I find it scary as well. The show itself is cute and targeted for kids but unfortunately, out of 10 drawings on DA, 8 of them are sexually suggestive/fetish or almost pony porn picture [bestiality much?].
Only few days ago I was reading [on DA's front page] about one girl asking for help cos she doesn't know what to do, cos she is going on some pony con, and she is scared of losing her pony friends if she refuse to have some group sex with them as they want her to lose virginity with them. WHAT...THE...F...
Ugh...I wish grown ups acted more like actual [responsible and considerate] grown ups, and while they are free to watch any show including this one, they would stop posting sexual content so younger audience, who also watches it, wouldn't stumble across it. Unfortunate, since they don't care about anyone but own desires, you end up with 5 year old kids, saying to their mum, when they see 'Celestia' pony, that this pony is a rapist.
That's just disturbing.

Thanks! It is really hard not to notice the problem to be honest. Unfortunately there is too many people who are in complete denial [either because they are part of perverted part of mlp community] or they because they are hardcore fans who don't want such issues to surface and put mlp fandom in the bad light. But burring it and pretending that it's not happening is even worse as it just lets all this perverts roam freely.
It's very sad that deviantart is not doing anything about it either. There is a lot of fetish stuff over here...which in itself is disturbing, [but this aside]

So what? I remember reading about how google manually removed all the porn from search terms such as 'kitten', 'fox' and 'bunny'. They did the same with all the pokemon porn that came up in image searches of 'Pokemon', and have most likely done so with a whole load of other franchises.Β
