Did I post it in a cosplay category? No, I tagged it as cosplay BECAUSE Lindsay is a well-known cosplayer. With a large following. It was tagged for the same reason I tagged myself. As well as "socks". And "beauty" and whatever other tags I used. Not literal in any sense but generalizations. That's what tags are. Designed to attract people with short attention spans. A generation perverted by language and accustomed to immediate gratification searches "tags".
Also, I didn't say a damn thing about anything being "creepy". I said, "Jeezy creezy" which is a slang expression for "Jesus fucking Christ." It's a form of exasperation. A little colloquialism, if you will.
As in, I get frustrated doing art all day (because Christ only knows I don't have a day job) just to have someone comment, "I'd fuck her." Really, would you? Could you actually take your hand off your dick long enough to drag your fat ass away from the computer to actually step outside and meet people? I doubt it. So I sigh and I shrug my shoulders, shake my head and go, "Jeezy creezy." And move on with my life. Gah.

You're talking about a fictional creation as if it is a real person. i am NOT talking about her as if she exists, i'm simply saying that this is completely out of character, for a CHARACTER. i enjoy the portal games quite a bit, and i never said i was offended by this picture, i said i was offended by how you are reacting to the negative comments that you get.

I was drawing a correlation between her comment and "male" commentators who leave worthless comments of the "I would fuck her" or "Why don't you show her pussy?" variety. It would be very difficult for her to play with her cock as I assuming she doesn't have one.
Let's start over. She said, "This isn't cosplay." Which was not meant to be taken as a compliment obviously. And usually anyone who leaves negative or derogatory comments will get the full on sarcasm treatment. Now people who leave constructive criticism do not get sarcasm from me. Usually I think about what they have to say and respond accordingly. Occasionally defending my choices or acknowledging their position if I feel it warrants that.
The scenario I envision is that the original poster saw this image due to it being popular, decided she didn't feel it was cosplay as Chell would never parade around in her panties because fictional characters don't do that. But rather than moving on with her life, she had to take the time to point out to me that "this isn't cosplay" due to some arbitrary rules she uses to define cosplay in her world. Now seeing that she doesn't seem to be a cosplayer herself and that Lindsay is actually a very, very well-known cosplayer, if Lindsay considered this shoot to be either inspired by cosplay or inspired by the video game, I feel justified in using the term cosplay in my description and tags. And if people don't like it, again, they should move on with their life because if they don't then I go, "OK here's a chance to get TONS of hits and comments on this photo!!!" Woot.
Step one. Act really pissed off and reply back angrily to try and get the person to respond back.
Step two. Keep antagonizing them to keep the responses coming AND to get others to join in.
Step three. Get completely surreal and absurd on them. Stray off the topic. Act bipolar. Throw in weird pop culture references to see if they get them. Whatever's clever. Be completely arrogant in one post and then self-deprecating in the next.
Step four. Do a complete about face and start being overly friendly with them. Treat them as if they are someone I speak with on a regular basis.
Usually by this point the person is either amused, frustrated or both. They move on, I move on. And in all actuality I have gained some of my biggest followers with these tactics. Our first encounter was less than savory. They were ANGRY but then they were confused. They dug a little deeper and suddenly started coming around again and again.
Remember, the Internet is a playground. So if I can keep myself amused, trust me, I will. I was in hysterics last night, writing this stuff. I stayed up til 5 am just getting drunker and drunker and my business partner popped her head in this morning and was like, "Why the hell are you still up? I could hear you laughing." And I was like, "Oh just being drunk and causing trouble on the Internet."
Anyway, don't be too angry because I think the world ends tomorrow and you might want to leave in a good mood just in case the Mayan's were on to something. Your best bet is to respond, "TMDR" and walk away. Or leave another comment because this image has a lot now. And thank goodness. I wanted people to see this pic. I quite like it a lot. Lindsay is very sweet-natured and very shy so it is good to see her look comfortable posing so sexy. Also her expression is truthful and honest and captures what I like about her just in general. I quite enjoy hanging out with her as a friend as much as one of my models. She has a kind soul and a big heart and has been a very, very good friend to me since that day I approached her at the Comic Con and asked, "Do you mind if I take your picture."

I wasn't referring to you, I was referencing the typical comments I get by trolls on this site which tend to come in two flavors: guys jerking off who somehow find time to leave derogatory comments that in no way impress anyone least of all me and strange, introverted little girls who somehow have enough free time to comment on things they don't like instead of supporting the things they do like.

What irony! Nothing is true. Everything is permitted. However, cosplay is defined by a very particular set of rules and can't deviate from them. That reminds me of the retards who ruined punk in the 80's by creating uniforms and rules to "define" what punk was. Woot! Punk rock, no rules! D.I.Y. I'm an individual. I actually get to go to France to shoot photos and I can't understand a word of it. So I am wondering how to learn an entire language in three weeks. But this is the life I live. It's so weird. Can I do it? I don't know. Can I fake it? I doubt it.
I'll be honest, I am a little nervous. But excited too!!! This is such a great opportunity for me. The Eiffel Tower, the umm, whatever else is in Paris. I can't wait. Plus I get to take one of my favorite models of all time. I told her, "We should write a book. Everytime I get sent to exotic locales, meet me there and let's take pics!" It's gonna be stellar.

It has been great so far!! I actually got physical, tangible presents I can hold. Not a gift card, not someone paying for my bar tab. I was soooooo stoked last night getting them. I think it has been years since I got a real Xmas present. Definitely the best Xmas I have had in a long time!

Awww I'm not sure why peeps aren't so kind and giving in your part of the world. I mean, I live in Arizona, a very conservative place full of cowboys and meth heads and a lot of people here are just rude but I am fortunate that I am surrounded by so many good people. I have some of the greatest friends anyone could ask for. I went through a really hard time in November but one of my models, Ally Joykill, made certain that I was OK everyday and fed me more times than I can count despite going through some hard times herself. She's selfless and a kind soul. I seriously would not have bounced back as quickly if not for her friendship. My friend Ray has ALWAYS been there for me. I asked him to do something for me that took about 4 days but also was mind-numbingly tedious and he did it without hesitation to help me. And my new business partner is offering me a chance to be a part of the photo studio and art gallery she is opening next year. And I met her initially to try and put some of my photos in her gallery. She looked at my work and was baffled how some of it was amazing but some of it was almost pornographic and just, "Bleh." So we had lots of talks over the past few months and being a photographer herself she came to the conclusion that all I needed was the right opportunity to really shine. She helped me look back at the last year and see all the mistakes I made and got me excited about photography again. She believes in me and makes certain I want for nothing until it actually opens. In fact her family has treated me as if I am part of the family. It was their kindnesses that made this Christmas so amazing for me. My family never seems to know what to get me for Christmas so I tend to get bottles of liquor or Starbucks gift cards. Not that I mind, you know, but still there is something to be said about a gift with a personal touch. Someone going, "Oh I bet Tate would love this!" That to me, blew my mind this year. LOL I quite enjoyed Christmas immensely. I just feel like I have a lot of hope and I am excited about the future again. At the beginning of November I thought my life was over. Anyway, I'm rambling again. Sorry. If you ever come to Arizona hit me up and I will gladly buy your drinks all night!

Why isn't her hair short and black? Or even if the person didn't want to go to the trouble to get a wig, couldn't she at least put her hair back like how Chell does? If someone were to ask me if I recognized a character out of this cosplay, I'd only be able to guess that it's Chell because she's the only human in the actual game minus the people you find out about through in-game documents.
My point was that this isn't a cosplay. I just hate to see people use cosplay as an excuse to go around scantly clad without even really looking like the character. I was only told after I made my comment that this was for a 3D model reference. It didn't say that's what it was for in the description. So, don't get your knickers in a knot. I had every reason to say what I said.
