My mother's chihuahua, Chalupa, was the closest mom had ever been to an animal. Lupy lived to a ripe old age, but mom still wasn't prepared for her loss; is anyone ever? My mother misses her dearly, and cries even still for her little dog who passed on, so I created a sculpture of her to keep close.

Lupy was a sassy little dog, always in charge and treated like a queen. She absolutely loved getting dressed up in little outfits, and would even pick one out of the bunch to wear. She wasn't partial to strangers, but loved the family and always got what she wanted. Even as Lupy got to where it was hard to move around and lost her sight, she still ruled the roost. She was always ready for cuddles and attention, and would restlessly paw at your hands if you weren't rubbing her belly. We grew up with you too, Lupy, and we still love and miss you. Rest easy now, queen bee. <3
