Spontaneous art trade with involving my characters Dahl and Gur and his Vonnarais "Vonna" Yar.This is why my characters arent allowed outside my head very often, they dont get along with the locals.
My characters, Dahl and Gur, were designed for a universe as close to canon as possible. Since in canonland the only busty races are human (who wear thick non-jiggly armor) and possibly brutes (but whos seen a female brute?), these two probably wouldnt know what to do with chest fat. Dahl assumes that Vonna is male because where shes from only male jackals have crests and arm fluff.
Vonna on the other hand comes from a 3B universe (Big Breasted Babe xD), and would probably assume that both of the weirdos chattering at her were male instead of just the one. Her reaction is based mostly on the assumption that she has no idea what the two are saying, since Dahl and Gur prefer to speak in the kig-yar native language more than the bastardized sangheili language most of the Covenant-loyal kig-yar speak, and probably wouldnt bother to learn any universal language (Edit: apparently she does speak the native language. I think she would still be surprised though XD)

Before anybody gets their panties in a knot, this is a joke. This isnt meant to be serious at all. Besides, if the three ever really did meet theyd be shooting at each other (pirates and Covenant-remnants dont get along well XD). Its all in good fun :3

Well its looking good so far, dont get me wrong. The gun perspective in particular looks really good. The legs are a bit oversized, the chest/back/hips seem a tad off and the stomach is a bit lacking. Not sure where youre going with the face, is it some kind of alien?
Im glad youre trying a new angle though, its looking really good! Cant wait to see it colored

Yes actually, it is an alien. And since the faces on this species lack noses or ears and unusual eyes, that's why the face is off.
Same reason why the legs and stomach seem disproportianate. I'm just following Games Workshop's designs.

Ah. Well the Tau only have one female model in their whole collection, and even then it's in a battlesuit and only their head is visable, so I make my assumptions based on other concepts and fanarts that I've seen.

Ive noticed that seems to be a problem with W40K creatures, theyre all models so its hard to get to know them.

Difficult yes. And the Tau suffer from typical case of "oh we have females, they're just off screen at all times".
Naww.... that's just not her.. Plus chaos can't affect Tau anyway. Seriously. The Tau are the only 40k race that don't use the warp for psykers or space travel. They don't even register as existing in the minds of Chaos gods.

In all of your pictures of her her crest feathers seem really flowy, so I tried to get it looking like that instead of the usual jackal spiked. I might be stealing your characters again, unless I can think of shenanigans for these guys, I actually liked drawing them cartoony. Ive been drawing all the kig-yar as close to picture perfect as possible, but I like how the expressions came out

Well that's natural. I mean.... the ingame Kig-Yar don't EXACTLY have a whole lot of "emotion" do they? They have normal and scared. But that's it. You're putting more life into their facial exrpressions, and sometimes a little deviation from normality is a good thing.

One of his halfwit friends responded to an old comment I posted, I responded, and now hes raging at me again. Have you seen his latest journal? Its unintentionally hilarious. That and Ive been using screenshots as reference pictures, so whatever expression they get is a modification of the original. I finally simplified and cartooned them.

Female jackals do not have crests of any kind. I dont know about female skirmishers, I cant find anything regarding sexual dimorphism in them.

awww, then they can has jewelry. THe skirmishers probably have a similar set up. I just give my female jakels the few fethers on the top of there head, as a means of strength, kinda a way of saying they are equal to the males.
