Description
Now I know the title says fan-project and I guess it is sort of a project but it's not anything I expect to turn into a big product/comic/etc or anything like that xD Really it's just me being me - every time I sort of get into something, and/or find myself disappointed with a story, or etc, I always wanna make my own version and challenge myself to do better. I get a lot of joy out of it.... thus.... uh.... this?

I was thinking about an AU in the Warrior Cats story where one of the clans lives on an island and is completely separated from the other clans, never seen, mysterious and the like... and what that could lead to? And from there I did some world-building and came up with the 4 main clans and their dynamics and then today I threw this map together to visualise what the territories looked like. I'm gonna infodump everything I've developed so far now...

FIRE CLAN:
The first of the two main feuding clans (Fire clan and Earth clan), Fire clan cats are known for their innovative attitude - out with the old, in with the new. They are constantly denying the warrior code and trying new things to better or worse effect. They are quite self centered and proud of their achievements, and sometimes their exploits have lead to new discoveries and/or better quality of life for all the clans, but they also have a hard time acknowledging when their experimentations have resulted in failure or loss. The border between this clan's territory and Earth clan's territory is always shifting. Fire clan cats are often quite fluffy, sporting bold colours and are also known for their dextrous-ness and agility.

EARTH CLAN:
The second of the two main feuding clans (Fire clan and Earth clan), Earth clan cats are known for their connection to nature, and their stubbornness - Traditions exist for a reason. It is incredibly hard to convince an Earth clan cat to change their ways, and this has led to many a petty conflict within and outwith their ranks. They strictly believe that any deviations from the warrior code are crimes and to be looked down upon. Meanwhile, this clan is also known for being incredibly skilled in their abilities to survive - their old traditions can often be a painful endurance test, but it has led them to having some of the toughest, most environmentally aware cats of all the clans. If you stuffed one into a small, barren cave for a week, they would find a way to survive. Earth clan cats look quite stocky and broad with flat fur and thick limbs, heavily rooted to the earth.

SAND CLAN:
The third clan, Sand clan, is often made fun of for their weak, friendly attitude. They are, by far, the most approachable clan, often taking in cats from anywhere and everywhere; kittypets, strays, or other clan cats, they don't mind. This has let to their clan taking on a rather unorganised appearance - the original genes of Sand clan cats have been lost, washed away by the waves of countless other cats, as this clan has grown and changed. Their territory, too, is pitifully small as the two feuding clans have taken more and more of it in their war for space - Sand clan cats are unfortunately too feeble and fearful to fight, and will quickly and readily hand over portions of their territory to avoid it. This also means that most Sand clan cats are starved, as their clan is overfull with cats of all kinds who struggle to gather food from their tiny hunting space.

ISLAND CLAN:
The mysterious fourth clan, almost never seen, often known only as fable by the other clans. Island clan cats are excellent swimmers, so while their island camp is small, their territory is much wider than any cat knows. Island clan cats are the only cats of the clans who know how to swim, and so while they can travel to the mainland, the mainland cats can't travel to them. Island clan cats, however, are heavily discouraged from walking upon the mainland, as the world out there is very unknown to them now and could be very dangerous. These cats have evolved into slender beings who slightly resemble otters, and often disturb other clan cats with their alien presence. They are also the clan with the greatest spiritual connections to starclan, and often recieve warnings and prophecies before the other clans - prophecies they will usually avoid, or aim to prevent (often successfully).

STAR CLAN(?):
The clan of dead warriors who walk the night sky. Unlike canon, Star clan cats aren't able to predict the future accurately. Rather, I like to see it as predicting the weather - These cats have existed for so long that they have become experts at predicting the events of the future, and often send messages to clan cats of their predictions and warnings, but that does not mean those predictions are guaranteed, or that they cannot be prevented. For this reason they often give warnings of dangerous or bad futures in the hopes that the clan cats will be able to prevent them in time.

Sorry if all that was a bit of a mouthful!!! That's all I have developed of each of the clans so far. I wanted to have a very clear dynamic between all four of them, unlike the books, where conflicts often arise due to a misunderstanding or someone crossing a border - I thought two clans having very different, conflicting ideals would provide a much stronger basis for clans to be fighting with eachother... But yeah!!! Maybe you'll see some more from this AU/Fanproject soon! For now, take my poorly scribbled-together map xD
