"He couldn’t do it. He just couldn’t. His heart could not handle being responsible for murdering a helpless child. He shut his eyes tightly and rest his forehead on the trunk of the tree, still standing above the female. He stood there for a while, just breathing with his eyes closed, trying to calm himself down so he could comprehend this situation. He opened his eyes once more, looking down at the frightened little pup who was still trying to get away from him, and he instantly felt horrible for even imagining trying to harm her.
