I mean, he had communication down in the first movie, not to mention a desire to answer existential questions about himself, but the way he went about doing it... doesn't really speak much to brains as he used the methods that didn't satisfy him before to try to find his answers at a place he himself destroyed...

well I mean in his defense he was only alive for a little while and was being used as a glorified lab rat, he lost control of his emotions at the time when he blew that lab up and didn't understand anything about people and pokemon aside from the bad people who used him

True enough... I just looked at that and how he tried to figure things out afterward made me think he didn't even think to try a different way (a way that might actually make him feel a sense of purpose/fulfillment) than the ones he was shown. And I guess just because he could communicate ideas telepathically, that doesn't mean the words we heard and the way we heard them were the way he said and/or meant them.
