I don’t think he knows what to think of her and the fact that this woman can shut down a very powerful and perfectly independent legendary pokemon before he can even begin to argue. Mothers are still a foreign concept to MewtwoRelated content

I bet Mewtwo sees a lot of himself in Delia (did I spell it right/even have the correct name?)
he can’t really bring himself to argue her point because he’s done the same to Ash for similar reasons
another sign that Mewtwo is healing- he respects her enough to heed her advice/ head of household position even if he’s in no real peril
and he may sense an emotional trigger that he is in a maternal presence that he would rather not disappoint or combat - something he clearly doesn’t get from mew
referring to the last piece, of we are to entertain the idea that Mewtwo is mew’s literal child but abducted and mutated/ engineered ... I’d forgotten that thier mental chemistry could be very very different besides thier life experiences and resulting preferences
Maybe mew is just a lot more laze fare in Terms of rules and how to enforce them being of a very independent breed and all, carefree plucky personality included.
i feel like mew at the end was saying something along the lines of - “see? Now was that so hard to do? Do I need to give you a bracelet or something before you heed my advice to lighten up and just live your life with as much joy as possible?”

They are bonding with each other, but strangely enough Mewtwo is being the responsible dad Ash needs so desperately in his life. I wonder how often this happend with othet pokemon? Especially if you take the nature of Gardevoirs into account.

Moms trump legendaries. I think it's sweet though. Since that mix of angry-concerned is kind of alien to Mewtwo (despite that he actually does this to Ash sometimes).
And for anyone in the comments who is even a tiny bit surprised she is not the least bit bothered talking like this to a legendary, I will refer you to the 3rd pokemon movie.
Protective mom instincts are not to be messed with. But on the bright side, I think on some level, Mewtwo probably likes knowing someone cares and worries about him. (at this point Ash, his mom, and Mew.)

I think it's the fact that it's someone angry at him- which he's used to from the Rocket scientists experimenting on him- mixed with being genuinely cared over- which isn't the same kind of thing he gets from ash- that the two neurons just kind of cross each other and MewTwo.exe has stopped responding happens.
