I don’t actually know much of the story about Pokémon or Mewtwo... was he some kind of experiment or something? I know when Ash found him he was pretty beat up

Ah. Yes, Mewtwo is a genetically modified clone of an ancient Pokémon, Mew, and he was basically treated like a lab rat and a living weapon, continuously hunted down so he can be used again. He has an immense hatred for humans and resented Pokémon born naturally into the world, he’s mellowed out but he’s still got it pretty rough

I mean for a little while he had that with all the clone Pokémon XD he was willing to die for them
