Ugh. I want to be able to animate like this. I feel like if I just had some more time on my hands I could do it (not as good as this, but I really REALLY need to practice). What program do you use to animate? ^^

I use toon boom harmony now, but I started off with Photoshop

Oooo! I could do photoshop! Hmm. I know well enough how to draw each frame in photoshop, but what about the actual compositing. Like, does photoshop actually have the ability to string all the frames together into a video, or do I have to export then import into another program? (you'd think my professor's would have taught me this, but they never did, we used Dragonframe mostly).

Yep, Photoshop has a timeline where you can set a frame rate and everything, you have it show up fromΒ the βwindowβ tab, then you hit the βcreate a video timeline button that shows up and from there you adjust your frame rate to 24fps and each layer you have is a frame, you can shorten and lengthen themΒ

Oh wow, the glitchy effect and end scene are amazing.
Only critique is the knife "spawn" seems sudden and seems like it's missing some frames.
Besides that though, I'm actually excited to see the final animation~

The pixel-ation effect around Chara-Frisk as they move is effective. The movement on Sans is a little stiff, but otherwise this is masterful. Between the energetic cinematography and the solid tempo as the characters go from point A to B, this little clip (short, though it is) is professional quality. I can't wait for the full thing.

This is so smooth what even, it looks absolutely amazing so far! And then it goes black as Frisk sneak attacks and I AM SHOOK. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the animation looks. Awesome work!

Aaah that was intense! I especially love when Sans dodges and Frisk strikes the ground, the slight shake of the camera and the sheer force that went into it, combined with how Sans almost seems to stumble a bit as if that were actually a very near miss rather than effortlessly evaded like he does in the game, drive home how just off-the-rails dangerous and crazy the situation is. Love it!

I just have to say, I am so happy (and relieved!) to see that people are still making UT animations right now, even though there's this horrible view a lot of people have that UT is 'old' and 'dead' 2 years later.Β
I got into UT a little later than everyone else, and I've been dying to make an animation of my own, but wasn't sure if people would be interested anymore.
I really look forward to the finished product! Thank you for inspiring me to try again!

Hehe, I know that feeling, I joined a fandom last year right when it had ended and even though I wanted so much to contribute my own fanart and ideas I felt pretty disappointed that most of the old fandom had given up on it and moved on (there were newer fans like me, but they didn't really have the same heart and appreciation I felt like the old fandom had and only seemed to care about ships and FC's, which are things I don't care about). I think that's what I actually find so miraculous about the Undertale fandom - not only are new comics, AU's and ideas STILL being pumped out by new fans almost every day, but so far as I've seen, every person who'd been a fan from the beginning are STILL in the fandom (TC included) and still pretty active. On the one hand this is probably why everyone insists that Undertale is dead - trying to convince the fandom to let it go already so the internet can finally stop getting flooded by UT "cancer". I will admit, I also wonder sometimes how some people haven't gotten bored of it yet, but hey it has only been two years.

Personally I'm very much a vanilla UT fan and I can't really stand all the ships and AUs that people keep inventing (seems to be a new one each day!) so I can understand people's views on the 'cancer' issue. But unfortunately it's what happens with every fandom out there. -_- just shows how good the source material is, if people can keep taking it and reinventing it, I guess.
I'm just happy that Toby isn't really on board with a lot of the fandom crap that fans come out with re: sans and Papyrus and their, uh, romantic pursuits (well, lack of, rather). XD

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same, when I first played the game I kept wanting more and went on to read a whole bunch of fancomics, but then they just kept on coming, with like a billion different versions of Sans and Frisk and all the other characters, and I got a bit overwhelmed XD
And tell me about it, every time you turn around there's a new AU, and to be honest some of them are just ridiculous but what can you do. As for ships, there isn't a single one I like from the game (I don't even know where they came from, I mean it didn't seem like a shipping sort of story?? Then again if a fandom exists, there will be ships), so I just do my best to ignore that part of the fandom altogether. I much prefer the cute family aspect.

Yeah, that's part of what amazes me and actually what reinforces my opinion that Undertale itself is a really good story, whatever the fandom makes of it. It's almost on the same level as a classic fairy tale that gets retold and reinterpreted hundreds of times. It also helps that a lot of the game is very open to interpretation (Frisk, Chara, the player, Gaster, Sans' past etc.)
I honestly wonder sometimes how Toby is able to handle all the weird things that people have done with his creation; I know I would personally be disgusted by a lot of it XD

Ugh... don't even get me started on most of the AUs. Most of them are just someone slapping a word in front of 'tale' and BAM A FANDOM... :S
Yeah, I mean I think it's awesome that Toby has expressly stated that it's a 'family friendly' game and that he set the record straight about the skelebros and these devious sexual fantasies people like to portray them inΒ (Papyrus is clueless about everything, sans is too lazy to do anything with anyone! pretty much those words!) and he even made sure people used a different tag ('Undertail') for that disgusting NSFW content people like to post (I mean... FontCest?! What the hell is wrong with you people?!). But yeah, it must be pretty disheartening and disturbing to see someone destroy your characters andΒ put them back together rather grotesquely.
Or maybe he just finds it funny and stupid how serious people get. I dunno!

You just can't kill a game that has a) a brilliantly written story, b) a rich lore, c) a masterpiece of a soundtrack, and d) all the feels.Β
I may be biased, but I think it's a contemporary classic. Much like people still go crazy over FFVII and Ocarina of Time.. I don't think it will ever get old for me. (:

yeah I think the same XD if it's good then it's good, just because the main popularity has died down it doesn't mean the game's just gone from existence
then again most people that tell me it is are people that hate it for reasons (probably not well thought out reasons) and they have a logic that if they don't like the game, then no one is allowed to.
