practicing animating breathing and I can't get enough Frisk snoozing on top of Sans so yep XDThis is NOT Frans, Frisk is a child and Sans is an adult
Toon Boom Harmony was used for animation, Photoshop was used for the backgrounds

To a certain extent, I can understand Sans breathing despite being a skeleton. But how in Asgore's name is his chest heaving like that? He has no musculature to expand, no lungs to fill, it just....boggles the mind.

That comes around to the same question on how he smiles. And lowers his eyesockets to make it look like he has eyebrows... So I suppose that magical skeletons can move their bone structure a bit?

See, I can understand both the above points. But expressing one's self with physical alterations is an active, semi-conscious performance. The air doesn't have anywhere to go so why would his chest move when- Wait. Of COURSE! He's not actually sleeping. He never actually is sleeping. He's watching, pretending. He's ALWAYS watching; putting on a show for Frisk. Or in this case, providing the little thing some relaxing rhythmic movements to help them sleep.
