I remember I tried to paint this one. I failed, though.
There's some work on lighting (or perhaps after-effects, or filters) that gives such amazing contrast to the picture. I also like that the region around the face is slightly more defined than the rest of the picture; it really invites you to observe all the fine details of her expression.
