I posted the fic included below...I finally decided to do a contest entry for
The subject is "Real Monsters" and the long version is "take a PPG character and turn them into some monster/supernatural creature/whatever"
Obviously this is demon Blossom, but instead of just making her a generic Aku-demon, I wanted to portray her as Lilith (roughly)
Lilith because
1. First woman says fuck you to mankind and fucks samael because she does what she wants
2. "lilith" can translate to "night monster" or "night hag" LOL QUEEN OF DARKNESS
3. she's a symbol of female empowerment/defiance/sexual freedom as opposed to subservience
4. she and samael could literally ruin the world but since they shat on the natural order they can't make babies :c
5. lilith is blamed for child death and so here blossom is killin her sisters..cause....they're children compared to her...LOL
originally, she had a more neutral/unreadable expression, but then i remembered Gravedancers, and how they designed the ghosts as smiling because it's more disturbing when a malevolent entity is happy to see you...ALSO FANGS
I had a short drabble for this but idk if posting it would disqualify me since fics aren't allowed .-. BUT I'M GONNA POST IT ANYWAY BECAUSE IT'S SHITTY and y'all can just ignore it if you want.
CONTENT WARNING/SUMMARY FOR THE STORY: blossom is basically raped by aku and she thinks it's just a recurring nightmare but finds out it isn't, and she kinda loses it and gets a mega stockholm syndrome-type deal for aku and now bubbles is the one who thinks she's dreaming but is about to find out that her sister really is a monster <3 here's the sta.sh link:Β Real Monster

Where do I even start?
Oh, yeah, the beginning.
I first found out about the story of Lilith in a book (that wasn't even about her ; it was like one paragraph somewhere in the middle) back when I was in junior high and my mind was blown : why had I never heard of this story before? Even atheists like me know about Eve (and the whole "was created from Adam's rib" deal always felt so wrong to me) but no-one had ever mentioned Lilith. That's a shame, 'cause she's a much more interesting character in my opinion. Maybe they didn't want women in real life to get any idea by hearing about Lilith so she was kinda swept under the rug? She's the archetype of the woman who takes no shit from anyone.
Anyway, a bit later when I was 15 and in first year of high school and started writing all sorts of stuff (original stories and Lordi fanfics, mostly) one of the first "big" projects (well, for 15-years-old me it was a big deal) I was working on (not THE first though) was a series I published on my blog. The main character was a half-demon girl. I didn't even hesitate one second when it came to name her. Sometimes finding a name for a character is the most difficult thing ever, but for her it was just obvious her name was Lilith. She was one of my favourite OCs and thing to write in general. ^^ It was around that time I decided that if I ever had a daughter I'd call her Lilith. At least she wouldn't end up being in the same class than three other kids with the same name! xD (That kind of things happened to me and other kids at school many times. Seriously, parents everywhere, can't you be a bit more creative? xD)
So yeah, you could say the story of Lilith had a great impact on me as a person and a writer. ^^ I think everyone has both Lilith and Eve in them, so to speak. How much of each character you have in you might vary.
Of course my character's love interest in the story (though it wasn't the main focus of the story, especially in early chapters) was some guy called Sam... who /spoiler alert/ turns out to actually be a demon called Samael. I thought it would be nice to include that.
All this rant reminds me that I really should work on that story again some time. I'll have to re-write everything to make it better. This is gonna take some time. And I should focus on the fanfic I started first. But I'll get back to Lilith eventually.
