Based off a few headcanonsI made this comic last month and I found it buried in my PSMD folder. I was going to delete it, but changed my mind. everytime I delete my old art I regret it later hhh

Hey, there can be multiple main characters in a story. A main character has a big impact on the story it's in, Nuzleaf had a HUGE impact on the story, being the caretaker and backstabber. I'm a main character.

Yeah, I've considered making a comic based off my Super Mystery Dungeon gameplay, but there are already a few ones around. If I'm making a PMD comic, I'd rather have it be an original plot, y'know?

(SPOILERS BTW!) So is this before or after the player goes into depression because nuzleaf erased your memory causing you to forget that your best friend is actually MEW! as in the mythical pokemon MEW! Told ya there would be spoilers! Also nuzleaf and the beldum are on a team! With yvetzal! (but it should be noted that nuzleaf DOES love you as his child and regrets what he did all the time...)

this comic takes place way before the hero finds out the truth about Nuzleaf. I think the game would be like, 10x more emotional if the player character and Nuzleaf had a more father-child relationship. The heartbreak from the betrayal would hurt a lot more ;;

So, this is a story where nuzleaf expresses how he truly feels? The whole reason nuzleaf isn't more of a fatherly figure is because he doesn't want it to hurt to bad when he betrays the player. He wants the player to be ready for betrayl and ready to kill nuzleaf without second chance. (he's like rudolf from FE:SOF (Fire emblem shadows of valentina). Rudolf betrayed his son and prepared for his son to kill him.)

Nuzleaf was being controlled by Dark Matter the whole time, so all he cared about was getting the player to do what he wanted (activate the Luminous Spring). I don't think he wanted the player to kill him or anything lol
In this comic I just imagined what it would be like if he did genuinely see the Hero as his own child, instead of just a kid that lives with him.

thats almost true. In the epilogue of the game, nuzleaf explains he did care for you as his kid, that night he disappeared for a while is when dark matter completely took control. At first he knew it'd take control at some point, but yes he was ready to die for the player and he hated making the player sad.
