"Mathew pitched this idea to us a while ago, and somehow him watching Matrix 4 rekindled the idea. I had Natsuki help him flesh the idea out, and this is what the two came up with. It all started with music from the game, followed by him looking more into the lore of the game."

"He imagines that given where the girls and I came from, our character data manages to luck out in becoming E.V.E.'s. Likely an overwrite of other candidate E.V.E.'s stemming from how the game kicks off. We'd answer to the protagonist and her allies on the basis that our breakaway virtual world is compatible with theirs. They would give us haven, and in return, we scavenge more data for them. The entire deal also reinforces my want to break away from reality in the context of that game a little more by being fully recognized as a "real human", and that my friends would share the same goal."
