It was just another day, but, this one was different, almost perfect...Suddenly you looked at me, you placed your hand in my face, I thought you were going to kiss me, so I closed my eyes...
But you stabbed me in the chest.
I was lying on the floor, crawling, trying to reach you; You just smiled and you walked away leaving me behind.
You didn't need a knife to do harm, you only used your words, even now I can't get those words out of my mind; All my senses can't define my feeling...
I remained lying there for 4 days, finally, I had the strength to stand up, I looked around and there it was, broken in 3 pieces, but it was still moving, very slowly but moving, it was suffering.
With tears in my eyes I started the needlework, the pain was leaving with every stitch, the hate was fading.
All those pieces were together again, I looked at it and it wasn't pretty anymore but it was stronger, wiser.
Maybe in the future It will break again, but I will have to work less, the pieces will be smaller...
You didn't succed, I didn't die, I'm here, standing alone, your words will never hurt me, ever again..
*sigh* I don't really like valentine's day, but this time I tryed to do something different, not the usual romantic stuff, because there is always two sides of the story, this is mine...
It's a cow's heart, I tryed to use a pig's but I wasn't getting the right effect, yes, I know, that is a huge heart, I sliced it in 3 pieces and I stitched it , it was gross but fun at the same time
, I planed this shot for about 3 weeks, and it's finally here.PS work: A lot, levels, tones, brightness/contrast, layering.... but I think it looks quite good

I can see that this piece was done a little earlier...*cough* 2004 *cough*...but I just came across it and fell in love with how the description fit with the picture. It was interesting to read, and I really like how it turned out! Nice job!

This is how I am feeling right now.
Your words are just right on the dot.
I've never read anything so true before ... or seen anything that ressembles .. mine.
This will leave a scar in my mind and heart. When I will feel the pain in my heart; I will search for your picture in my mind and it will remind me of the pain/suffering of what love is all about.
Most people says love is grandiose... love is great ... love is the best thing that can happen to a person .. love neevr fails .. etc ... quite weird... I have read a passage in the bible where it states :
1 Corinthians 13
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
If I speak in the tongues of men and angels,
but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a tinkling symbol.
And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing.

Let me reasure you ... love fails. And more often than we know.
I'm really starting to believe something now.. a phrase ... when I used to hear " love is blind " .. I didn't try to make much sense out of it .. but now.. it all makes sense.
Love is not just blind. Love is deadly.
It's like a black widow .. it will grab you and pull you in its web and leave you to die.
I wish you would enter my Valentine contest.. this is the best pieces I have seen so far.

I'm sorry it has taken me some time to reply to your comment but I was amazed by it, I think you have commented my work a couple of times and I’ve only had like 2 or 3 comments like this one, but still I will give my best to express my point.
While most of my life I’ve been searching for ideals like the perfect friend, the perfect relationship, the perfect situation, it has never happened and I’ve realized of the mistake I’ve been doing all the time, the mistake is exactly that, the search for ideals, ideals are just thoughts in our minds and when they are not completed we feel disappointed and in some ways betrayed, sometimes by a feeling that is like a drug (scientifically it behaves like a drug but that is another subject).
I’ve always believed in love and I believe in its perfection, yes, it might surprise you a little, but it is; my base is this: love never fails, it evolves, it grows, it gets brighter and brighter but it doesn’t fail… we are the ones that fail.
How? Just I like I was stating in my first paragraph, that we search for ideals, like you said that love is blind, yes, but also we also g blind of all the things that surround us while we are obsessed in getting something that just can’t be, that is where “love” starts to fail, when we cease to be realistic and turn into that stupid zombie state.
We are all different, we act different, I’ve learned that I just can’t have a list of actions that I want to have in a specific person, that I need to accept them as they are and learn to “read” what they do, why they do things, to see if their actions are based in a true form of love or if its something else.
Love has hit me a couple of times, but it has never failed to me, people had, I get angry and all that, I always swear and I promise that I won’t fall in love again but in that way I’m just lying to myself, the feeling is awesome but I end up hating people , you know?.
But just because someone fails me that doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop giving love to someone else, no, I always start from scratch when I’m trying to have a serious relationship, it’s a matter of time if that person learns to value what I give and its always 100% but without loosing the realistic point of view and having always present the many differences that we might have.
With all of this all I can tell you is: it happens when it has to happen, nothing early , nothing late, just in time, but keep your eyes opened because you can miss an excellent opportunity and don’t search for an specific type of person, but also , don’t accept everything that comes in your way, be a little bit elitist and make sure that person has a real interest in you, it sounds hard sometimes, but I can assure you , it happens, its happening to me again and I’m having the time of my life and I'm loving like if it was the first time ...
And please, excuse my many spelling mistakes but it’s a little bit hard to say something well structured in English for me (I’m Mexican)
