Follow me on Instagram ^_^ : www.instagram.com/temperatesag…We found this beautiful young little Western Skink in our neighborhood and decided to take a few quick pictures with it before releasing it again. It was very relaxed and even fell asleep on my warm fingertip.

the thought of a tiny lizard falling asleep on my fingertip amuses me infinitely. nice shot too, though i'm not sure you had to stare THAT big

Hahaha, I am surprised he wasn't more afraid of my eyeball. XD He fell asleep and let me get close enough so that we could get the depth of field to have both my eye and the lizard in focus.

This makes me imagine what it would be like to live in this big world at that size. Being caught and picked up by this giant, unfamiliar creature would be pretty scary, but maybe we think that because we're not exposed to such large and out our control things in our daily lives. But even then, there are things so large we can't comprehend them, like the expanse of the universe, or the sheer size of our world, and so we choose to ignore it for the most part. Thinking about how small we are compared to how small creatures like this one are I imagine the difference in everything would be like living in a lower resolution, where the things we see are so much bigger to little things that they can almost see the particles that hold them together, like looking at an image up close and seeing pixels. It's really interesting to think about.

I have always wondered about that as well! If being small lets you see smaller things and what it is like to have things immeasurably big than you wandering around.

I caught a lizard just like that about two or three weeks ago. It wasn't as relaxed though, I had to chase it down. Anyways, I like how your eye color and makeup match the lizards coloring. That's pretty cool.
