Stepping out into the alley behind the bar; "Nice 'office'." Xander quips.
"Hey, I can afford the rent and I never lose my keys." Lynx says with a smile; "So what can I do for the Lynch Mob's shooter?"
"My brother told me that people tell you things." Xander says; "I need some information."
With a smirk; "I'm a private detective Mr. Lynch; that means that most people equate me to the scum on the bottom of their shoes." Lynx tells him; "I'm also a mutant, which means I might as well be invisible. So no, no one tells me anything." he says emphasising 'tells'; "But I do listen real carefully. What do you want to know?"
Glancing around the alley, Xander says quietly; "What have you heard about some missing shipments?" Xander asks him.
Squinting at Xander for a moment; "So this is your brother asking." Lynx comments; "So he's missing some shipments, maybe thinks someone is muscling in on his business...or about to. And he's got his big gun; that's you;" he says, pointing his cigarette at Xander; "but he don't know who to aim it at. That about right?"
"Something like that." Xander says in irritation; "Look have you heard anything or not?"
"Whoa. Pump the brakes man." Lynx says, making a calming motion; "Information like that don't just fall from the sky. I'm gonna have to ask around, kick over a few rocks. You know the drill."
"How long is this gonna take?" Xander asks him impatiently.
"You're brother's desperate huh?" Lynx says, causing Xander's eyes to widen in surprise; "Like I said, I listen real careful; and the first thing you asked is how much time. Most folk would ask how much I'm charging...unless they're desperate." he says with a grin. "Gimme a couple days, I got your number saved on my cell. I'll call ya when I got something."

EDIT: The character Lynx belongs to a good friend of mine, shadows-of-radiance.deviantart… and he reminded me that he's only 4' 6" tall. I'll correct that in the future.
