Shortlisted for the 2016 Batsford Prize: batsford.com/batsford-prize-20…The theme of the year was ‘Reuse, Recycle and Reclaim’, but instead of the usual environmental message, I decided to go for the alternative interpretation of 'recycling', of reusing ideas. A common element found in this image is the concept of a 'horse', and the Creative Process shows the stages the idea of a horse goes through within the art studio of the mind.

Digital collage made from the arrangement of photographed items (mostly charity shop trinkets and discount toys), hand-drawn characters, scanned paper patterns, and some free online digital elements (such as the desktop icons, the horse photograph, and the face template outline).
