Meme 3,Guess who went on a trip down memory lane for this? XD
Yeah. I've been sick for the past few days, to the point I couldn't do ANYTHING, and it bugged me. *pout* Anyways, I finally got to post this. Enjoy plz.
------------------
------------------
------------------
1. Heaven: Been wanting to do this forEVER. Prowl and Yoketron, the ninja masters, reunited. X3 (I always think yin/yang when I see this.)
2. Last Hope: Do you guys remember Kranix([link] )? Yeah, that guy who died on the 1986 movie? The "last of Lithonie" guy? I felt bad for that guy. I actually took the time to look him up. While doing so, I stumbled across hints that there might have been other survivors...maybe. So I got a picture of one of Lithone's ships escaping and superimposed it. Here's hoping the race survived. *fingers cross*
3. No Way Out: Poor Bluestreak. Everyone talks about how tragic it must have been to be the only survivor of the Praxus attack...the image hit me and wouldn't leave. Hope everyone else luvs sparkling!Bluestreak as much as I luved drawing him. (PS: The super-huge cannon does NOT belong to Megatron...and I have no idea how he got it...or how he's carrying it.
4. Mirror; Goldbug reflecting (oops, pun) on his former life as Bumblebee, wondering why maturity tends to come at the cost of innocence.
5. Childhood: Ah. Now we reach one of my mini-theories about Dion, something we revisit in 10. Here, Ariel is leaving Orion and Dion to fill out orders for the docking bay while she takes Dion's (adopted, maybe) sparklings home for him. Yes, the twins do look familiar...why d'you ask? *guilty of fan theory-ing*
6. Eyes: Did anyone else think "The Golden Lagoon" was one of the saddest episodes ever? (Plz, no environmentalist/hippie comments. It would be sad, slaggit!) Anyways, I watched the show again a week ago and got stuck on Warpath and Smokescreen's comments about BC and came up with my own answer.
7. Waiting: I don't care if you hate Wheelie. I really don't. I still think I would go nuts if I was alone that long, too. (PS: Hard rhyme was HARD. Halp, plz!) (PPS: I wish MY shooting stars were falling starships. :c)
8. Puzzle: Skyfire is still trying to figure out what the slag happened. (The number of pictures I borrowed from comics, episodes, etc still shames me but I just did NOT have time to make them up on my own. No fanart here but my own, though, you will be happy to note.)
9. Two Roads: When I was reading summaries of Shattered Glass, I still remember squee~ing ove Jazz having a brother. (I believe he is a twin in that universe.) For the heck of it, I did a sketch of this scene for the G1 half of the story, where Ricochet leaves Jazz to help Cybertron his own way. (Originally Ricochet was giving Jazz a visor. XD)
10. Memory: The first pic I did for this meme. Ready? Here is my explanation:
Dion=
+Dock worker
+Friend of Optimus
+Yellow and Purple paintjob
+tow-capable truck alt
+Disappeared after being wounded (wiki says he survived![link] )
+"can...modify his arms to accommodate the need to carry heavy objects, a skill he possessed as a dock worker"
Huffer=
+Has experience in construction engineering (useful skill anywhere)
+Possible Optimus Friend
+Yellow and Purple paintjob
+tow capable truck alt (he did tow Optimus's trailer in "Heavy Metal War"!)
+Bitter, especially about Decepticons'
+ He lifted a freakin' MAMMOTH over his head (amongst other things, of course, but...MAMMOTH.)
PLZ note: This is JUST a THEORY...one I've fostered for a while, but STILL a THEORY. Please be civil in your comments, have a delicate psyche. X3

Thanks for putting up with more insanity.

LOLZ well, while Bee is being an awesome bug by maiming Megatron, Screamer and Soundwave invited us for tea with Optimus I hope it would be awesome as the last one|'3
though bumblebee was still pissy and still have a grudge on Optimus for eating his energon cake so the tea party ended soon... poor Optimus
but after Bee and Prime made up, Prime said we could go and see their haunted house after bee finishes inspecting it

2. My favourite of the ten images here. I do love to see obscure characters and their stories get attention. Kranix's story, and the Lithones' in general, has always been a personal favourite because, compared to the Lithones' plight, the Transformers actually seem to have it easy at all times (well, the Autobots. Somehow, Unicron showing up always a good thing for the Autobots).
3. I do like Bluestreak's backstory, but I can't say I ever found it worked out properly in any canon. Transformer fiction has a rather annoying way of going certain routes but lacking the knowledge of psychology and care for any but the most popular/main characters to finish the trip.
4. I think this image best conveys why I don't like IDW separating Bumblebee from Goldbug. It destroys nearly all of what he is: a solider with a past who has grown from his experiences. With Megatron-Galvatron, it is fair game because the two are only linked physically, not mentally as with Bumblebee and Goldbug.
5. Squee, my precious trio! But wouldn't Dion (and the others) be a bit too young (and with all due respect, way too irresponsible and self-centered) to be properly taking care of anything?
6. Reminds me of the "Golden Lagoon". Few episodes have an ending as... unusual as that one. Great Beachcomber moment though, both in the episode and your art.
7. I have no respect whatsoever for anyone with character-bashing tendencies. Critique is good (I, for one, could produce a 2 A4 rant as to why Optimus Prime's character has descended into suckitude since the early years), but for instance the intensity with which Wheelie is hated doesn't seem fair or reasonable at all. Reeks more like mob mentality. I have grown to be very fond of Wheelie - he's a tough little cookie for all the time he has managed to survive all alone in hostile environments. Not many Transformers can boast on such a feat.
9. Jazz actually has somewhat of a brother in G1, Binaltech to be precise. A "living" mental clone of his was created for the Genetronic Translink System project; this clone was dubbed Zoom-Zoom and is in-bio described as "like a sibling of Jazz". Given his red colour scheme, it is more than likely that the Ricochet of Shattered Glas is either based on a fusion of G1 Stepper and Zoom-Zoom or near-completely based on Zoom-Zoom but given a name that sounds less... humorous.

WOw. the comments. @.@
4. I know! Bumblebee's transformation into Goldbug was a good metaphor for what the war was doing to the cybertronians. Making them separate people made that much harder to grasp. (Though I must admit, I was ticked when I first saw GB. )
5. LOL. They probably are, but I needed a picture for the theme and it wouldn't leave my head. (Of course, a second thing I noticed later was that the twins were already grown up at this point. )
7. It makes no sense at all. I just don't get why people insist on hating the new characters somedays.
9. Did he really? *runs to tfwiki* Sweeet~! Surprise!brother!

PaperBerry In reply to tera633 [2010-10-07 07:46:03 +0000 UTC]
4. True on Goldbug, but I would say it goes even beyond his little person. The big problem I have with modern day G1 material and, to the extent of homage choices, the rest of TF franchises, is that it has become stagnant. The rigorous ways old, much loved characters in the cartoon/movie and in the comics were "removed" to make room for new characters does not carry my approval, but I have it an infinite times rather than the favouritism that keeps the exact same handful of characters in the spotlight at the cost of other characters and progress in general. Goldbug before was Bumblebee, which meant that if anyone wanted to use Goldbug (for the Throttlebot team), they'd have to ditch Bumblebee and no one is gonna do that anymore. Just as that IDW won't let popular, early G1 Ironhide stay dead like all those poor late G1, G2 and Japanese dudes. Just as that they kill off Headmaster Sunstreaker to revive him as his old not-Headmaster self (new human Hunter O'Nion can stay dead). Heck, I don't get why Last Stand of the Wreckers is that popular; among the many complaints about it I have, one of the most prominent is that I could tell as soon as the entire team was introduced who would live and who would die, including in which order they'd die. I've never been a fan of the Wreckers, but at least the original Marvel UK team consisted of characters with even odds of death and survival, which made their stories interesting. Nowadays though... Let's just say I can't be bothered with the umpteenth story of character x and y having relation z and doing w. I want Rodimus back as Autobot leader, if only for a while. I want characters whose size and traits are nΓ³t adjusted for easy interaction (looking at you, Fortress Maximus). I want popular and obscurer characters standing side by side, getting the same level of attention and chances as one another. And I want Goldbug to be matured Bumblebee, damnit!
5. Uhm,unless there's a context I'm not getting here, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe could be any age. ADP only are confirmed to exist in the cartoon and could have existed in two more continuities, but chances aren't high. So, if this is cartoon, then the only thing certain about the Lambos is that they existed prior to the departure of the Ark. I know that in continuities such as IDW and DW they lived prior to the war, but those are other continuities: ones that suffer from an inability to spread their characters over a timeline because everyone wants to see those characters "now". Different continuity = (possible) different origin. Sunstorm is based on the orange seeker in More than Meets the Eye, Part 1, who existed prior to the departure of the Ark. In DW, he is created by Shockwave in 1980-2000. Nearly all of the combiner teams were built in the 1980's in the Marvel comics and cartoon, but are early war in the other G1 continuities. Jetfire always is pre-war, except for Marvel in which he was created in 1985 on Earth by Shockwave. And to make matters even funnier, the original Universe addition to G1 introduced Glyph, who was at least as old as from the second Golden Age and lived at least well past the Beast Machines war. In the (terrible) FunPub addition to G1, Glyph is of the Quintesson pre-First War days and dies during the First Golden Age. So, yeah, just because the Lambos exist pre-war in other continuities doesn't mean they did in the cartoon.
7. Not just the new. Elita One, Arcee, Rodimus Prime~Hot Rod, Wheelie, Beachcomber... quite a few of the Minibots in general, etc. It's just that people tend to have a very narrow mindset in which there's primarily very high (and biased) standards to be met and secondarily no room for more/other characters past a certain point. And then there's of course the despicable joy or satisfaction people can get by forming a group dedicated to the exclusion/suffering/death of a much weaker loner: mob mentality. Works to if the target is fictional. For Wheelie, I'd guess it's 70% mob mentality, 20% post-1985 and 10% not pretty, rhyming, childlike = not up to standards.
9. The tfwiki has an article called Relatives where every instance of family is noted by continuity family. Zoom-Zoom as Jazz's brother is one of my favourites, because I am fascinated by the idea of Zoom-Zoom having Jazz's personality, but not the memories and experiences on which that personality is based and thus would develop into a distinctly not-Jazz direction. Basically, I like the clone under the original's guidance for all the ways it could be not the original and with that how it would grow from a drone to a fullfledged individual.

7. But hardly surprising. Except maybe that part about humans getting a kick out of plainly ignoring what doesn't suit their purposes. ThΓ‘t one was news to me.
9. Hmm, both I can't provide. It is my believe an artist does best what an artist does themself (cases aside ). Advice and inspiration are fine tools, but "scene" is really the terrain of the artist. And from (point 3.9 of) those 30 drawings of yours, I would deduce my input to be unneeded.
