Jie and Karen were two of the most insufferable women you could ever meet. Both had their idea of how the world was supposed to work and if you dared to stray from this perfection, you'd be in for a scolding at best, more likely, a visit from your manager.

Despite this fact, the two ladies were very different in how they pursued perfection: Karen was a workaholic who demanded the best from everyone, especially her own thirteen year old daughter, whose grades and lifestyle were never up to her mother's impossible standards. It was this attitude that served Jie well as a restaurant critic.

Meanwhile, Jie was nowhere near as harsh with her sixteen year old son. In her eyes, her baby boy was perfect and it was the rest of the world that needed correcting. Although there was plenty of child support money coming in from her divorced husband, Jie supplemented that income through her work as an investor, allowing her to multiply that income from the comfort of her home.

It happened one day that both women were touring a science lab that was demonstrating a molecular cohesion device. Both women decided they wanted a better look, did not here the warnings to stay behind the yellow and black line and the two of them ended up getting caught in the blast, conjoining together.
